Katsura Grill: Yasai Udon

Posted on September 19, 2020September 19, 2020 by Theme Park Anthropologist

Katsura Grill is a hidden gem in the gardens of the Japan pavilion at EPCOT. Here, vegetarians and vegans can find vegetable sushi and edamame. Now, a new vegetarian and vegan friendly item has arrived, and I was excited to try it. Katsura Grill recently added a Yasai (Vegetable) Udon dish.

I had the cast member check the ingredient list for the sauce and noodles.  She confirmed that no animal products were used in the dish. The Yasai Udon bowl comes with noodles, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli in a sesame teriyaki broth. Overall, the dish had a pleasant flavor and was quite filling. I found this dish to be much more satisfying (and cheaper) than the vegetable bowl at Kona Cafe. My only complaint is that the vegetables were a little overcooked for my preference and I would have liked a little heat added to the dish. I would order this again, but probably in the colder months when I need something to warm me up.
