A Vegan and Vegetarian Review of Casey’s Corner at the Magic Kingdom

Posted on November 22, 2018February 21, 2019 by Theme Park Anthropologist

I walked pass Casey’s Corner my whole life without ever thinking about eating here because…I’m a vegetarian.  What would a hotdog place have to offer vegetarians and vegans? So, I was super excited when I saw that their menu now features two vegan options.  Casey’s Corner has a vegan loaded dog which is topped with a slaw, corn, and creamy barbecue sauce. They also serve a plain old veggie dog. As a first timer to Casey’s, I decided to opt for the plain veggie dog so I could check out the toppings bar too.

I knew Casey’s is a popular dining location, but I had no idea just HOW popular it is with park goers. After waiting in line for a few minutes without moving (it was a moderate attendance day), I decided to use Disney’s mobile ordering to see which method would get me my food the fastest. The mobile ordering was WAY faster.  I had my food in a few short minutes.

Next, I made my way to the toppings bar.  Casey’s Corner has a small offering of relish, sauerkraut, onions, and jalapenos to adorn the dogs along with packets of ketchup and mustard. It’s a pretty standard fare of toppings.  Nothing too exotic is offered here, but still enough to add some flavor to my veggie hotdog. I chose some relish and jalapenos and smothered it in mustard.

Then, it was time to find a seat… This place was packed!  Casey’s Corner small size does not contain its huge popularity.  The decor is cute. The walls are covered with vintage baseball memorabilia.  I don’t know too much about baseball or sports in general, but I can think of a few people in my life who would love to take in the vintage baseball atmosphere.

Overall, it was a satisfying option, but not amazing.  I don’t think I will make this a regular stop. There are too many other vegan and vegetarian quick service options in the Magic Kingdom that I like more and are less chaotic and crammed.  I applaud Disney for adding these vegan options to Casey’s Corner. It’s nice to keep in mind that I have options if I go to the park with non-vegetarians who have their heart set on going to Casey’s Corner.
