Disney offers some pretty amazing table service dining. You can choose from family friendly character dining to sophisticated signature dining. There was a time when you could only get a good meal from a table service, but that’s changed. Many Disney quick service dining offers unique and flavorful options to satisfy the foodie in us. Animal Kingdom serves up some spice-filled dishes at their quick services and you can sample international cuisine at the quick services in Epcot’s World Showcase. The improvements to the quality of food is only one reason to give Disney quick service dining a chance. I have compiled a list of the five other ways that I think quick service dining is better than table service dining.
1. Less Expensive
Let’s start with the obvious. Disney isn’t cheap and one of the easiest ways to save money in the parks is to forgo eating at a table service. You can use the money you save on a souvenir to remember your magical day!
2. Less Time Consuming
If you’re not a Disney regular then the amount of things to see and do at the Walt Disney World resort is overwhelming. Table service experiences can be quite time consuming. Choosing a quick service option gives you more time for attractions, shows and character meetings. This is especially useful in a park like the Magic Kingdom.
3. No ADRs
Anyone planning a trip to Disney becomes quite familiar with Disney’s Advance Dining Reservations (ADR). Popular dining reservations are booked up to six months in advance. This isn’t great for someone like me who doesn’t want to over plan their trip. Don’t get me wrong… You should totally use the ADR system to plan your trip, but I don’t like feeling like I’m rushing from one reservation to the next PLUS trying to make my FastPass reservations in between. Quick service offers more flexibility in my planning and relieves quite a bit of stress.
4. Mobile Ordering
Some popular quick services like Casey’s Corner and Woody’s Lunchbox offer a mobile ordering option. I LOVE mobile ordering! You can access mobile ordering through My Disney Experience. It’s super easy to use and you can customize a lot of options if you have special dietary needs. You can order your food in an attraction line que and then head over to your dining location when you’re done. Once you arrive at the quick service, you simply walk up to the mobile ordering window and pick up your food. It’s like a FastPass for your food!
5. Room for Dessert
Portions aren’t as hearty as some table services leaving room to try classic Disney desserts like the Dole whip or to taste something new like a cute character cone. Since you saved money and room in your stomach, why not try them all?!!!
