Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa del Lago at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort sits atop the lake and is connected by three bridges from various points of the resort. The story behind this bar and eatery is that it’s a place where travellers can meet along their journey and discuss their wild tales and adventures. I have to admit that this theme doesn’t come through to me, but I was here to try the food anyways.
Coronado Springs is not the best resort for vegans and vegetarians. The resort consists mostly of bar food and the quick service locations have really nothing to offer those on a plant-based diet. Three Bridges, however, does offer some vegan and vegetarian items on their menu. So, maybe there was hope for a weary vegan and vegetarian traveller in this culinary desert.
On our most recent visit, we decided to try an appetizer and two salads. The portions here are small and mostly meant to be shareable. First, we tried the plant-based Roasted Corn Dip. This item came with a smoky tomato aioli, tajin, vegan parmesan and was served with a side of tortilla chips. I found this item to be a bit bland and lacking any heat.
Next, we tried the Villa del Lago Salad. This salad came with roasted peppers, white beans, potatoes and a sherry vinaigrette. The salad was fine. It was simple, and sometimes I want something simple and healthy. For $13, however, it was a pretty small portion. This is not a restaurant where you get a full meal. It’s more for light bites.
Last, we tried the Smoked Feta Greek Salad. This salad came with tomatoes, green peppers, olives, onions, and cucumbers. I had high hopes for this salad and was hoping it would be similar to the Greek salad at Primo Piatto at the Riviera Resort. It was not. The salad definitely tasted like a bar food salad. The smoky flavor of the feta just didn’t come through for me. Like the Villa del Lago Salad, though, it was good, but not great.
For being a spot for adventurers, I found the food to be relatively safe and lacking in an adventurous spirit. It wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t memorable or worth a repeat. The way I feel about Three Bridges is basically how I feel about Coronado Springs as a whole. It will do if nothing else is available, but it’s not ever going to be a preferred choice for me.
