Thanksgiving Movies

Posted on November 26, 2019November 26, 2019 by Theme Park Anthropologist

Christmas movies get a lot of love at this time of year, but there are some great Thanksgiving movies out there too.  While most are swapping their favorite holiday recipes right about now, I decided to share my top three movies that have become as much of our Thanksgiving tradition as my stuffing and pumpkin pie. Do you have any Thanksgiving movies you and your family watch every year?

#3 Best in Show

Best in Show is hands down the winner for me! This mockumentary is a hilarious take on the world of dog shows like the National Dog Show that airs on Thanksgiving.

#2 Fantastic Mr. Fox

The autumnal color palette of this Wes Anderson stop motion film puts me in the mood to curl up with a blanket and  warm apple cider.

#1 Planes, Trains and Automobiles

This misadventure John Hughes film was something I always watched as a kid and have carried on the tradition into adulthood.
