April 13th is Record Store Day. On this day, independent record stores will offer special releases on vinyl. This year’s list includes albums from Bad Religion, David Bowie, Woody Guthrie and many, many more. For the Disney enthusiasts, there were two records on the list that especially caught my attention…Mickey Mouse Disco and Disney Songs the Satchmo Way. Mickey Mouse Disco was released in 1979 and performed by various artists. If you are a Disney fan with a quirky taste in music and have ever listened to “Chim Chim Cher-ee” or “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” and wished that there was a disco version out there, consider your wish granted. I couldn’t listen to it all day long, but it’s a fun album to own and play every once in a while. For those who prefer a jazzier version of “Chim Chim Cher-ee” or “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah,” check out Disney Songs the Satchmo Way. In this 1968 album, the legendary Louis Armstrong performs beloved Disney songs in his signature New Orleans style. This is one of my favorite Disney albums and highly recommend it to any Disney fan. I just might have to buy it for my vinyl collection too. Have you listened to either of these albums? Would you want to own them on vinyl?
