You just started seeing someone new and you’re not quite ready to let them know just how much you love Disney parks. Plus, going to the parks requires a commitment of time and money. If the date goes south in one of the parks, you might feel obligated to see the entire date through. This could become unbearable with the wrong person. Just getting back to my car from the Magic Kingdom can be a stressful hour long journey. That’s not a risk I’d want to take with someone that I’ve only just started to get to know. Is it possible to have a magical Disney date night without going into the parks? Of course! Walt Disney World offers more than theme park thrills. Here are some of my favorite date night ideas. Let me know yours in the comments below.
Wild at Heart
Over at the Campsites at Fort Wilderness, there is a whole lot of activities to do on a date. There are hiking trails, archery and horseback riding. It’s a relaxing way to get to know someone in the great outdoors (with a little bit of Disney pixie-dust). You can end the evening with making s’mores over by the campfire. Enjoy some campfire entertainment or Disney movie under the stars too.
Tropical Hideaway
Head over to the Polynesian Village to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks or the Electrical Water Pageant on the sandy beach as it makes its way around the Seven Seas Lagoon. This is one of my favorite themed resorts. It really feels like I’m transported to a relaxing tropical hideaway. End the night here with drinks at Trader Sam’s or a late night snack at Kona Island.
Midnight at the Boardwalk
The Disney Boardwalk is located near the Epcot resorts. This is an absolutely magical place to stroll along at night. It’s like being transported to another time. It has the same aesthetic as Boardwalk Empire, which I love! It’s a great place to watch some street performers and eat very unhealthy carnival-type food.
Friendly Competition
Walt Disney World has two incredibly themed miniature golf courses. One is based off of the film, Fantasia, and the other is winter themed. Fantasia Gardens is located near the Swan and Dolphin Hotel. The course has characters from the 1940 film. Winter Summerland is located near Blizzard Beach waterpark and carries the same snow-filled theme over there as well.
