Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe: Plant-based Burger

Posted on March 7, 2021 by Theme Park Anthropologist

Vegans and vegetarians can rejoice! The infamously terrible plant-based sloppy joes have been zapped out of Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland and a plant-based burger has landed at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.

There isn’t anything particularly unique about this burger. It’s an Impossible patty that comes with lettuce and tomato. You can also request a side of onions and pickles in place of the toppings bar that used to make this THE place to get a burger at the Magic Kingdom. The burger is fine and hits the spot if that’s what you’re craving. I prefer the Beyond patty to the Impossible patty, but I’m happy to see the change here. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, which is a plus when it comes to quick service burgers.

It was great to have a reason to come back and watch Sonny Eclipse. I will come back here again when I am in the mood for a burger and fries and some stellar entertainment. My favorite time to visit Cosmic Ray’s is for a late-night snack when this popular spot is almost empty. Somehow, watching Sonny Eclipse do his thing in a nearly empty room feels more like an evening lounge performer you would see if you were traveling through the galaxy and stumbled upon this cafe to satisfy your nighttime burger craving before continuing on your journey.
