Jungle Skipper Canteen: Falls Family Falafels

Posted on August 8, 2020August 8, 2020 by Theme Park Anthropologist

Jungle Skipper Canteen is hands down one of my favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World. The adventurous flavors and atmosphere never disappoint, and I truly believe it is one of the most underrated experiences on Disney property. After an unfortunate and disappointing meal at Tiffins, I have been craving a meal at Jungle Skipper Canteen.

One of the items that I forgot how yummy it was until I had the comparison of a similar item at Tiffins was the Falls Family Falafel. This plant-based appetizer comes with five falafels on top creamy hummus and sprinkled with smoked paprika. There isn’t anything to dislike about the dish. The falafels have the right amount of flavor from the herbs and the texture in these wondrous little spheres is perfect. They aren’t too hard, but also keep their form.

What really made this item stand out to me was the smoked paprika. It gave the falafels and hummus the right kick and unique flavor that makes them memorable, unlike the mediocre ones we tried over at Tiffins. It was hard to share this appetizer. I could have easily cleared and licked the plate clean on my own… If I wasn’t in civilized company with my fellow adventurous food travelers.
