EPCOT Festival of the Arts: Vegetable Gyoza

Posted on February 5, 2020February 5, 2020 by Theme Park Anthropologist

The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts has slim pickings for vegetarians and vegans. Aside from the plant-based bratwurst in the Refreshment Outpost, vegetarians and vegans can also try the vegetable gyoza in Japan. The vegetable gyoza comes with two dumplings filled with veggies and edamame. It’s served with truffle mashed potatoes, mushrooms, pepper strings, and teriyaki sauce. This option is vegetarian as is but can be made vegan by ordering it without mashed potatoes. Overall, this is a solid option. It has a nice flavor but not too adventurous for the more timid foodies. The dumplings were extra crispy and held together well from my generous soy sauce dipping. Wasabi would have gone great with them as well. I enjoyed the added flavor of the pepper strings and wished there were more. It’s worth a try if you happen to find yourself strolling through Japan.
