A lot is happening at Walt Disney World this holiday season. Here’s a list of some of what’s happening and how much it will cost you. Check out Disney’s official website for more information. Let the holiday season begin!
Magic Kingdom
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ($99-$139)
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special ticketed event that takes place on select nights from 7 pm-midnight. The park is filled with some extra holiday pixie dust; where certain attractions get holiday overlays and many more holiday magic.
EPCOT
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays (park admission)
At the Festival of the Holidays, guests will be able to tour the world to learn about how the season is celebrated around the globe from international storytellers. As with all EPCOT festivals, there will be food booths here too.
Candlelight Processional (park admission)
Each night will have a different celebrity narrator tell the Christmas story. A choir and orchestra accompany the narrator during this event.
Hollywood Studios
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! (park admission)
One of two holiday projection shows at Hollywood Studios, Jing Bell, Jingle BAM is displayed on the Chinese Theatre. It features holiday favorites like Mickey’s Christmas Carol, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Prep and Landing.
Sunset Seasons Greetings (park admission)
The Tower of Terror (ironically) becomes the jolliest place in Hollywood Studios as happy holiday projections of Disney characters dance along the haunted hotel… Just ignore the screams while the magical snoap falls from the sky.
Holidays in Toy Story Land (park admission)
Toy Story Land gets a festive overlay. Which works out pretty well since the land already has the giant Christmas lights year-round.
Animal Kingdom
New Decorations and Shows (park admission)
Animal Kingdom has largely gone ignored during the holidays, but I’m excited to see this park decked out for the season. Each land will be decorated in theme and the Tree of Life will get its own projection show.
Disney Springs
Christmas Tree Trail (free)
Take a stroll down this scenic trail filled with Disney film and attraction themed Christmas tree decorations. You’ll also find holiday treats
Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt (free)
This is a “shopping” scavenger hunt that takes you through participating shops in Disney Springs. You get a special prize once you’ve found all of the lost items.
Special Tours
Disney’s Yuletide Fantasy ($149)
In this three hour tour, you will get to learn what goes into decorating the parks during the holiday season. This tour will also give you a keepsake to take home.
Disney’s Holiday D-lights ($289)
The Holiday D-lights tour begins with a barbecue at the Fort Wilderness Lodge Whispering Canyon Cafe. Guests then get to experience a backstage glimpse of at two of the parks and how they sparkle and shine with the holiday spirit. After that, participants head over to EPCOT to experience the Candlelight Processional and EPCOT Forever.
Disney Resorts (free)
Resort hopping is a fun and free way to add some Disney holiday magic into your day. All of the resorts are decorated in theme to the resort. Some resorts have a little more magic than others. At the Grand Floridian, you’ll find a giant gingerbread house. The Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Contemporary also have some impressive gingerbread displays.
