When I heard that my favorite candy, Skittles, was sponsoring a free candy sushi making class at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, I made my reservation immediately.
Candy Sushi is complimentary workshop offered daily at 3:30pm and 5:30pm inside the Land Pavilion during the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Participants must check-in 15 minutes before the beginning of the workshop to avoid losing their seat. Once checked-in, participants are asked to take a seat at a large u-shaped table. I was surprised to see that 70% of the other participants on the day I attended were adults. Each person had a “boat” filled with sushi supplies, a bamboo roller, three sushi recipe cards, and a Remy chef hat. I loved seeing a room full of mostly adults wearing Remy chef hats! Everything, except the bamboo roller, was mine to taken home.
Once everyone had checked in, we be began with our first sushi roll, the Rainbow Roll. The girls gave detailed directions and walked around with an example of each step. Many of the participates liked the flavor of this roll the best. I thought this was the more difficult of the two to make. The challenge with this roll was making sure it’s rolled tight enough that the Skittles and gummy worms didn’t slip out.
The next roll was the Candy ForYa Roll. This was the easiest and my personal favorite (as long as you don’t mind molding the rice crispy treats with your bare hands). I think these turned out the best. I also loved that they included my other favorite candy, Swedish Fish.
The entire workshop only took about 45 minutes. I honestly believe anyone will have a blast doing this activity. The adults were laughing and enjoying the candy just as much as the kids (maybe even more). It’s candy and Disney! How could you not have a great time?
My only complaint is that some of the ingredients contained gelatin. Even though the final product wasn’t vegetarian friendly, it was still fun to make. We were able to bring the recipe cards home so we can try to make gelatin free versions of these rolls at home.

If you can’t find a reservation then I would recommend visiting the Land Pavilion 30 minutes before the time of the Candy Sushi workshop to see if there are any no shows.
